If the trophy did not unlock
If Front to Back did not pop, the fastest fix is to replay the bedroom chapters in chapter select and re-check the easy-to-miss points: character conversations, small room objects, and any interaction that moves the scene forward. Most misses happen when players spot the main objective and continue too quickly.
How Front to Back works
Front to Back is not a skill trophy. It is a room-completion trophy. To unlock it, you need to inspect the important objects in each bedroom sequence and listen to the unique conversations that appear between Rockford, Cassandra, and Slater.
The tricky part is that some interactions only appear after a memory ends, and some of the easiest misses are small objects, wall items, or dialogue prompts that show up right before the next story beat. That is why this page is built as a checklist instead of a general walkthrough: it helps you clear each room step by step without blind replays.
Rules That Prevent Mistakes
Slow down inside bedrooms
- Clear the room before advancing the memory objective.
- Re-check the âsmall stuffâ after you pick up a major item.
- When a conversation choice appears, treat it as checklist progress.
Track by interaction groups
- Posters/photos and wall items
- Desk area (notes, cassette/players, personal items)
- Shelves/drawers/closet-style storage
- Unique conversations (choose every option at least once)
Front to Back Room Checklist
If you prefer a step-by-step checklist instead of a video, use the room-by-room tables below. The route is written as a practical sweep: move clockwise from the door whenever possible, and treat any Advance interaction as the thing you do last for that part of the room.
Rockfordâs House checklist
Do a full sweep of hallway + bathroom + bedroom space. Pick up talk prompts whenever they appear. Leave Advance actions for last.
| Spot | Type | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Hallway: Debbieâs door | Inspect | Quick check from the hallway before entering deeper. |
| Hallway: stereo | Inspect | Hallway objects are easy to skip if you rush to the bedroom. |
| Hallway: family picture | Inspect | Check the family photo outside the room before you step inside. |
| Hallway: picture opposite the bedroom | Inspect | Some guides list this separately from the family picture, so treat it as its own click. |
| Hallway: painting | Inspect | Treat paintings as âinteractive dĂ©corâ and click them once. |
| Bathroom: counter / towel / cloth | Inspect | Different guides describe this slightly differently; click the bathroom interaction point once. |
| Bedroom: CD (music) | Inspect | Interact with music objects even if they feel decorative. |
| Talk: Cassandra | Talk | Choose any unique dialogue option when it appears. |
| Bedroom: turntable | Inspect | Music gear is often tied to unique lines. |
| Bedroom: skateboard | Inspect | Check the obvious âidentityâ objects (board, trophies, posters). |
| Bedroom: keyboard pillow | Inspect | Soft items can still trigger an inspect line. |
| Talk: Slater | Talk | Do not skip talk prompts between object clicks. |
| Bedroom: video tapes | Inspect | Video items show up again later; still click here. |
| Bedroom: cassette player | Inspect | Treat as part of the music-object sweep. |
| Bedroom: CD (specific album) | Inspect | If multiple CDs exist, click each distinct prompt. |
| Desk: tape on desk | Advance | Do this after you clear the surrounding desk objects. |
| Closet: photos on door | Inspect | Closet doors often hide multiple clickable photos. |
| Talk: Cassandra (second prompt) | Talk | If a second Cassandra prompt appears, take it before advancing. |
| Talk: Slater (second prompt) | Talk | Conversations can appear between story beats; grab them. |
| Bedroom: video tape player | Advance | Leave this until you have checked the roomâs remaining objects. |
| Talk: Slater (music prompt) | Talk | Music-related talk lines tend to be unique and missable. |
| Talk: Cassandra (support prompt) | Talk | Take it before interacting with the next âadvanceâ object. |
| Photos: clipped string (collect extra photos) | Inspect | Treat this as a mini-subtask: find every remaining photo prompt. |
| Photos: near books (below string) | Inspect | Look just under the string area for a photo prompt. |
| Photos: inside book near bed | Inspect | A hidden-ish photo prompt can be inside a book interaction. |
| Photos: closet door (additional) | Inspect | If there are multiple closet-door photo prompts, click each. |
| Photos: clipped string (final interaction) | Advance | Only do this once you are confident the photo sub-items are done. |
| Talk: Cassandra (rush prompt) | Talk | Do not rush past this if you see it after the photo sequence. |
| Talk: Slater (joke prompt) | Talk | This kind of one-liner prompt is commonly missed. |
| Closet: poster inside | Inspect | Closets often contain one last clickable âpackedâ item. |
| Desk chair: box | Advance | Story-advance objects are safer as the last click in the area. |
| Talk: Cassandra (entry song) | Talk | If a talk prompt appears right as you enter, take it first. |
| Talk: Slater (making CDs) | Talk | Keep rotating between talk prompts and object prompts. |
| Corkboard: notes (set) | Inspect | If the board has multiple notes, read each distinct note prompt. |
| Corkboard: notes (catch phrases) | Inspect | Continue clockwise across the board prompts. |
| Corkboard: notes (motel) | Inspect | Treat each note as its own interaction. |
| Corkboard: notes (music ideas) | Inspect | If the board advances after one note, come back and click the rest first. |
| Corkboard: notes (vinyl countdown) | Inspect | The board is a common âone-and-doneâ mistake. |
| Corkboard: notes (objectives) | Inspect | Click each note prompt even if it feels redundant. |
| Corkboard: notes (orientation) | Inspect | Continue the clockwise sweep across the board. |
| Corkboard: notes (venue guide) | Inspect | After the last note, you can safely progress. |
| Board: âWelcome to CAâ card | Advance | After every individual card is read, use the boardâs final advancing interaction. |
Debbieâs Room checklist
Most player-made guides treat Debbieâs room as part of the same Front to Back chain inside Rockfordâs house. Keeping it separate here makes the route much clearer.
| Spot | Type | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Talk: Slater (initial) | Talk | Start with the talk prompts before trying the roomâs progression objects. |
| Trophies / trophy shelf | Inspect | Several guides explicitly call out the trophies as a separate inspect. |
| Talk: Cassandra (initial) | Talk | Pick up Cassandraâs line before interacting with boxes or furniture. |
| Box near Cassandra | Inspect | This is usually the first easy-to-miss object in the room. |
| Wardrobe / cabinet near the door | Inspect | Trying the locked wardrobe/cabinet opens up more dialogue and the next inspect step. |
| Talk: Slater (after wardrobe) | Talk | Most routes have a second Slater line after the locked wardrobe attempt. |
| Talk: Cassandra (after wardrobe) | Talk | Take the matching Cassandra line before the dresser photo. |
| Picture on the green dresser | Advance | Often treated as the story-forwarding interactable for this beat. |
| Talk: Slater (after slushie) | Talk | When you return, re-check both talk prompts before opening furniture. |
| Talk: Cassandra (after slushie) | Talk | Same rule here: get the dialogue first, then the drawer. |
| Dresser drawer / ticket piece | Advance | Open the drawer and make sure you actually reveal the ticket piece hidden under the clutter. |
| Shell on the blue desk | Inspect | This becomes available on the later room revisit. |
| Photo by the boxes | Inspect | Another late revisit inspect that is easy to miss if you go straight for the wardrobe. |
| Talk: Cassandra until âshould we leave?â | Talk | Exhaust the line until the leave prompt appears. |
| Talk: Slater until âshould we leave?â | Talk | Do the same for Slater before the final wardrobe interaction. |
| Wardrobe (final interaction) | Advance | Treat this as Debbieâs room closeout interaction. |
Cassandraâs House checklist
This house has a few interactions that can be missed if you do not enter the bathroom and re-check talk prompts. Keep the sweep: hallway â bedroom â bathroom â return sweep.
| Spot | Type | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Hallway: family photo | Inspect | Start the sweep in the hallway before stepping into the bedroom. |
| Hallway: parentsâ door | Inspect | Doors often have a quick examine line. |
| Room: pinboard / bulletin board | Inspect | Most guides place this inside the room rather than the hallway, so check it early in the room sweep. |
| Bedroom: cassette on bedside table | Inspect | Check bedside items before clicking bed/major props. |
| Talk: Cassandra | Talk | Take any unique Cassandra prompt as soon as it appears. |
| Bedroom: wall picture near bed | Inspect | Wall décor is a common miss. |
| Talk: Slater | Talk | If choices exist, cycle them across attempts. |
| Desk: picture | Inspect | Desk sweep: photo â book â other small props. |
| Desk: book | Inspect | Books often hide a âreadâ line and are easy to ignore. |
| Trophy (softball trigger) | Advance | If this triggers the next beat, do it after desk + wall + bedside sweep. |
| Bedroom: bed interaction | Inspect | Beds can have their own unique line even if you already checked bedside items. |
| Talk: Cassandra (Harvey prompt) | Talk | Grabbing talk prompts here reduces random replays later. |
| Talk: Slater (superpower prompt) | Talk | Take it before going into the bathroom. |
| Bathroom: detention slip | Advance | If it starts a sequence, do a bathroom sweep first, then trigger it. |
| Talk: Slater (bathroom prompt) | Talk | Bathroom talk prompts can appear after you step inside. |
| Talk: Cassandra (moon prompt) | Talk | If it appears, take it before leaving the bathroom area. |
| Bathroom/room: wallpaper | Inspect | Click once even if it feels like background art. |
| Table by bathroom: photos | Advance | Treat as last for this corner once all prompts are consumed. |
| Talk: Cassandra (dad prompt) | Talk | This may require stepping into the bathroom first. |
| Talk: Slater (spew prompt) | Talk | Take it before the window/exit beat triggers. |
| Window area: curtain | Inspect | Curtain / window props often count as separate prompts. |
| Trophy cabinet | Inspect | If there are multiple prompts, click each before you advance. |
| Paper behind Slater | Inspect | This is one of the extra points called out by PhraseMaker and the Steam guide; worth checking even if you already did the curtain/window sweep. |
| Bed: contract | Advance | Often triggers a cutscene beat; do it last for the bed area. |
| Talk: Slater (move?) | Talk | These âshould weâŠâ prompts are easy to skip if you rush. |
| Talk: Cassandra (party music) | Talk | Make sure to trigger it before the window advance. |
| Window interaction | Advance | Treat as the final click for this sequence. |
| Talk: Cassandra (seniors prompt) | Talk | If it appears after the window beat, take it before leaving the scene. |
| Slater interaction (scene exit) | Advance | If this moves you out of the house, do it last. |
Slaterâs House checklist
Slaterâs room tends to be âobject-dense.â Sweep the novelty items first, then do talk prompts, then hit the Advance media devices at the end.
| Spot | Type | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Plasma ball | Inspect | Start with the obvious novelty props. |
| Robot | Inspect | Click once; move clockwise around the room. |
| Photos on amp | Inspect | Small photo prompts are easy to miss in this room. |
| Guitar | Inspect | Music gear usually has unique flavor lines. |
| Book | Inspect | Treat it as part of the desk/dresser sweep. |
| Photo on dresser | Inspect | Dresser photos sometimes look non-interactive; click anyway. |
| Talk: Slater (party info) | Talk | Take talk prompts as soon as they appear. |
| Wall art over bed | Inspect | Wall items often count as separate checks. |
| Desk: camera | Inspect | If it opens a browse, do a quick scan, then back out cleanly. |
| Fishtank | Inspect | Tap/inspect once; then continue the sweep. |
| LP / record | Inspect | Music collection items can have unique lines. |
| Lava lamp | Inspect | If it looks like set dressing, it still might count. |
| Tape deck | Advance | Do this after completing the object sweep of the room. |
| Talk: Slater (bummer prompt) | Talk | If it appears after the tape deck beat, still take it before leaving. |
| Talk: Slater (should we go?) | Talk | Treat as pre-exit conversation. |
| Video tape on bed | Advance | This typically leads out of the house sequence; do it last. |
Best Cleanup Approach
If you are doing cleanup, combine this page with the chapter select strategy: replay the bedroom chapters one section at a time. This page now separates Debbieâs room from Rockfordâs room because multiple walkthroughs track it as its own Front to Back segment, which is easier to follow in practice.
I am intentionally leaving The Ritz / hideout interactions out of the main checklist. Community guides conflict there, but Game Rant and other walkthroughs describe those interactions as skippable for the Front to Back trophy itself. This page focuses on the safest bedroom-route core.
If you want a general cleanup order for all trophies, start with the Platinum Roadmap and the Chapter Select Guide.
